From the Edmonton Journal -
The Edmonton Oilers made a second pitch to Vancouver Giants general manager Scott Bonner on Friday to run their American Hockey League farm club in Oklahoma City.
Bonner, who looks after one of the best Western Hockey League operations with coach Don Hay, has the blessing of Giants owner Ron Toigo if he wants to move up.
Pat Quinn, the Oilers senior hockey adviser, is a minority owner of the junior club.
Hay makes a big buck with the Giants, but if Bonner did accept the Oilers offer, Hay might move with him.
He is close to Oilers new head coach Tom Renney, from when they were with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers.
ON THE BENCH: The Oilers have to make qualifying offers on their 15 group 2 free-agents by this afternoon to keep their negotiating rights. The list includes Sam Gagner, Andrew Cogliano and Gilbert Brule, as well as goalies Jeff Deslauriers and Devan Dubnyk.
