Sad day for Wings and Hawks fans. One of my favorite enforcers.

I used to love watching Probert growing up. He went off the deep end a few times on the ice. Too bad tho...

A nice description on the funeral today.

I haven't said anything about this to date because I wanted to just think of what exactly I wanted to say.

On one hand, when I first heard the news, I wasn't shocked at all. Probie had drug and alcohol addiction problems for years while he played, and sad to say, a little part of me was kinda surprised it didn't happen sooner.

As I thought over it more, the more it sank in. The fact that he was one of if not the most feared and respected player in his heyday. I remember watching him in the late eighties though my high school years. I remember the battles with Tie Domi and Stu Grissom and Troy Crowder. I also remember that he was such an underrated scoring threat. The Bruise Brother shirts. Probie was as beloved as Stevie in Detroit.

All this to say simply, I miss Probie.

If you want to read what a lot of Detroit and National media have said about Bob Probert, this is a good link to start at.
