2011 Winter Classic Forecast

Since I am also a weather geek - figured I'd take a look at the New Years Day forecast for Pittsburgh.

Right now it looks like temps could be in the lower 50's but looks mostly dry at the moment. A few showers but nothing big (yet anyway)

Wonder how that will make the ice conditions. Sure seems a bit warm.

Latest forecast has temps in the 50's with a better shot of rain. I imagine they can keep the rink cool but rain would still make it a mess

I just read they have a contingency plan to play Sunday if it gets too messy Saturday. Temp for Sunday looks cooler in low 40's
