Dallas Walker At least I get to see him live at the Head/Barons game in Calgary this Feb. He is a skilled player and for sure has a bright future in the NHL, but he still has a bit to learn at this level.

Brendon Keeping stupid move....they should get rid of cogs, brule...... cogs and brule will never be any good...stortini, jacques...do they even know how to play hockey...i think we can afford to give up some draft picks...we have a lot of good prspects in the system now...if they dont soon get a chance to play we will lose them anyway...package together cogs, brule and the 1 pick and get a good player...

Trent E. Kane Omark is not a bottom six player, he needs to be a top six and there is not room for him right now. As much as I would like to see Brule gone, Omark does not need waivers and is on a two way deal. Brule would need waivers and is on a one way deal. Omark is doing well but needs to continue his development somewhere where he gets more playing time as well as more PP time.

Dallas Walker He needs to be smarter with the puck in his defensive zone. There has been a couple of turnovers which led to goals. He'll be fine, see you again soon Linus!!

If you're saying it's a mistake, you sadly haven't been watching.
He HAS NHL talent, but doesn't play the NHL game.
Give aways, no hits, weak forecheck.
Talent doesn't win everything.
You can't compare Gilbert and Foster. Storts and Brule play ...a more physical game...much needed
But Jaques, ya, he's uselessSee More

Thai Nguyen I think this is a great move. Omark is a future nhl star but still has to learn the north american game. Smaller ice, more big hitting and lots of skilled players. With OKC he'll be getting top line minutes, where he can build up experience, and therefore will be better prepared for next season when he earns a full time position on the oil.

Robert Lunghamer he is defensively irresponsible... i love the kid's skill, but now he knows what it takes and that's good... the oilers will do some faceoff corrections(anton lander and his 60+% maybe?) and defense fixes in the off season and he'll be back... linus will be a great player

To blame Omark for a few turnovers would be stupid, how many countless turnovers and bad coverages have guys like Brule, Cogliano and anyone else in our bottom 6 caused?
Let alone the fact he at least produces in way less games than most of ...the crap players that still manage to stay on the team. I don't see this ego you're talking about either, Gayle. He's actually referred to as a very quiet individual who is very confident in his abilities as an offensive player. Sure he has alot to work on defensively, but that's a hell of a lot easier to teach than offense. It's scary to see Cogliano & Brule waste spots when neither of them really do anything on the ice.See More

I think they should have sent 91 down he needs to find his game he is going to be a great player need to find his touch back they are both going to be stars they have to rethink things

Dallas Walker Omark & Jacques play 2 completely style of games. Jacques isn't there to score points, he is there to create energy and finish hits. I don't think he is that useless, just too injury prone.

From Yahoo News:
Showboating Oilers rookie Omark sent to AHL
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP)—The Edmonton Oilers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/edm/) have sent left wing Linus Omark (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/4872/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/4872/news) to the AHL, less than three weeks after he was criticized for showboating in his NHL debut.
Omark took a lot of heat for his spin-o-rama goal in a 4-3 shootout win over Tampa Bay on Dec. 10. He defended the move, saying he has always enjoyed entertaining a hockey crowd.
The Oilers recalled the 23-year-old forward on Dec. 8. He had a goal and four assists in eight appearances with the NHL club.
He is returning to Oklahoma City, where he has appeared in 26 games and has 13 goals and 13 assists.

Yahoo's got it all wrong.. I don't think anyone here criticized his spin-o-rama move. Even most of the NHL didn't criticize it. The Tampa Bay Lightning criticized it, and last I checked, they have nothing to do with decisions involving Oilers player movement.
Yes, showboating was an issue, but the folks at Yahoo make it sound like that shootout move was part of the decision. I don't think it was at all.

It all depends on what attitude he comes back with. I don't think he thought he should have been here the first time and I think it showed. Then the longer he was here the more he got over it and the better he played. He can really help this team, they need somebody that wants to score everytime they touch the puck (I think every team needs this) The team does not need someone that thinks they are the only one on the ice however and he has to come back with the attitude that if he becomes the player he can be....that his stay in OKC will be short lived.
Linus is the type of player that can dominate this league.

Unfortunately, us Oilers fans would have revolted if Omark wasn't called up when Hemsky was out. Now that we've seen him, I'm thinking there will be quite a few less people lobbying for his call up. I'm not saying he's bad or anything or that I don't like him. He just is very rough around the edges because of his wanting to do it all on his own. Seems that he feels he has a lot to prove. He does have some things right. I think Renney said it best, so I'll quote him:
"There’s a bit of a tendency there from a player who loves the puck and doesn’t want to relinquish it, who wants to manufacture more than what the circumstances will allow and that’s noble, but it’s also wrong ... I don’t want to change him, I want to help with his decision making."
