Yep, that's a LOT to replace.

Sorry folks... when you guys were at the top of the conference (or close to it, anyways) doing well, I was scared this would happen. The Oilers have had such bad injury luck the last 4 or 5 years that it's almost impossible to even call it bad luck anymore.
Anyways, while I'm sorry you guys don't have "Gingerballs" (as I affectionately call him) down there right now, I'm pretty happy about seeing him. Always liked the work ethic he puts forth. Our forth liners could learn a lot from his effort level.
The bad news that not many people have talked about is Reddox is waiver eligible. So he should have to clear to go back down... unless this was an emergency recall, which I don't believe it is. So, don't expect Reddox to be back. The Oil might risk waivers with someone else like Jacques however. The fan base has tired with him at the NHL level, but he's been reliable at the AHL level.
Eberle also looks like he'll be out for the short term... so Omark might be returned before too long.

Yeah wow - can't remember the last time I've seen so many injuries for one team so early in the season.

Tough break for us on Reddox. I commented on that on another thread - 1 way contract so he'll probably be in Edmonton the rest of the year. I'm glad for him. By far the hardest worker on the ice every night. Great on the PK and also even strength.

Glad Eberle is gonna be OK. That looked really ugly - I was sure that was a few months or more. Agree - Omark will be back (again).

I'm a big fan of Reddox. He provides a huge spark down here as a breakaway threat. Good for him to be up there though!
I caught some glimpses of Omark, Reddox and Petry playing last night on the NHL Channel. Wish we could see more Oilers games.

That was some nice puck movement by the Edmonton "Barons" , and some rather lax defense by the Wings. I was glad to see Reddox & Omark both get points last night. Petry looked good in what little I got to see of the game.

Yah that Reddox/Omark/Brule goal was a thing of beauty!

In the Edmonton Journal article about Reddox it says he has a 2-way contract and I heard he cleared waivers before the season started so I think Reddox will be back within the next month!!

Yes Reddox is on a 2-way contract. And players actually very seldomly get claimed on waivers nowadays. It's all about what you're willing to risk. I'd hate to lose Reddox to another team. The good news is that if Edmonton returned him to OKC and he were claimed on waivers, the team would need to first offer him back to the teams that missed out on him due to waiver order (including the Oilers). How many people would jump at Reddox for a player on their NHL team? I don't think there are a lot, but I still wouldn't want to take that risk. He's got a cheap contract, which makes him a bit more marketable to teams, and gives me enough reason to just hang on to him, if I'm GM.

Really missed Reddox last night... I always have felt like he was one of the greatest players on the ice for the Barons and was excited for him to have the opportunity to go back up to the NHL - but I really hoped we would have someone step into that spot to fill the void. We didn't look terrible last night against Peoria, but we didn't look good either. Hopefully, we can have different production tonight.

So true. Omark - ehhh... whatever. Reddox is a huge loss though. Especially on PK. Welcome to the board!
