Gotta say wow - what a joke the city snow removal is. Given them the benefit of the doubt Tues and Wed, and maybe even Thurs - but still? Come on. The Edmond streets are absolultely terrible still. Pure ice all week and some still haven't been plowed more than once.

I realize it takes $$ to do this - but come on. Does it cost more than a weeks worst of lost business, car accidents, no schools, etc?

Hire some damn road construction companies and have them use graders to plow the snow. Then the city trucks can concentrate on the salting/sand.

And don't even get me started on the damn people who feel the need to drive 40 or 50 on pure ice.

I was in Philadelphia a few weeks ago and they received the same amount of snow as we did. The next morning ALL the roads were clear, they pretreated the roads and then the plows simply came by and swept the snow to the side. If that kind of stuff happened around here, my hate for snow MIGHT be lessened.

I'd pay an extra buck a month to set in a fund to pay contractors in the case of big storms. Wouldn't have to worry about death trap roads then. And if no storms - no expense! Save the money for next year.

I agree with the extra money paid to keep roads cleared. Over the last few years we have had snow like this. Or we could send some of our road crews to train up north with the other cities that clean the roads quicker.

And more snow coming Tues/Wed. Damnit! My bet is they cancel that Wednesday morning game
