Hey guys !
We will be having an event called Hockey For Life at Blazers on July 23rd. Its going to be a 12-14 hr event thats starts at 2pm. A lot of hockey going to be played. Food, games, beer ( I hope) , and good times. Working on a bunch of raffle and auction items as well.
Its to support a group called LifeShare. They are the non profit group that takes care of organ donation and transplant services here. I am very close to this organization as I lost my first wife in an automobile accident and donated all of her organs that I could. LifeShare was there for me and helped me find something positive out of a tragic event. I hope all of you will come out and try to support the event in one way or another. Organ Donation just hit close to the hockey community as well. Just recently one of the best USA goalie prospects , Ian Jenkins, passed away this week in a freak accident at 15 years old.. His parents decided to donate his organs.
I will be recruiting 80 players and 8 goalies ( The youth guys can play too. Obviously not as goalies but it would be nice to get some young guys out there too) . Each players will be responsible for raising 100 bucks. All the money will go to the Charity. We are planning on a 12 hour marathon game where these 8 teams just rotate in and out. We have already had printed and numbers jerseys donated so every player will get their own jersey to keep. Working on other things to place in the "players bags" as well. Please let em know if your interested.
If you know of any company that would want to be a part of this please let me know. I will send out a LifeShare event letter for those that want to see it. Hoping to have a flyer done for the event this weekend.
Thanks guys!
