Hey guys !
We will be having an event called Hockey For Life at Blazers on July 23rd. Its going to be a 12-14 hr event thats starts at 2pm. A lot of hockey going to be played. Food, games, beer ( I hope) , and good times. Working on a bunch of raffle and auction items as well.

Its to support a group called LifeShare. They are the non profit group that takes care of organ donation and transplant services here. I am very close to this organization as I lost my first wife in an automobile accident and donated all of her organs that I could. LifeShare was there for me and helped me find something positive out of a tragic event. I hope all of you will come out and try to support the event in one way or another. Organ Donation just hit close to the hockey community as well. Just recently one of the best USA goalie prospects , Ian Jenkins, passed away this week in a freak accident at 15 years old.. His parents decided to donate his organs.

I will be recruiting 80 players and 8 goalies ( The youth guys can play too. Obviously not as goalies but it would be nice to get some young guys out there too) . Each players will be responsible for raising 100 bucks. All the money will go to the Charity. We are planning on a 12 hour marathon game where these 8 teams just rotate in and out. We have already had printed and numbers jerseys donated so every player will get their own jersey to keep. Working on other things to place in the "players bags" as well. Please let em know if your interested.

If you know of any company that would want to be a part of this please let me know. I will send out a LifeShare event letter for those that want to see it. Hoping to have a flyer done for the event this weekend.

Thanks guys!

I'm in. Goalie or skater. My best friends wife works for LifeShare. My son is 9 and plays on a travel team. If there are some youth teams to play against each other, he could play too.

I think what we are gonna do is maybe mix in a few youth with the adults. Half of them are better than most of us anyway =) Plus its just for fun ! .... Who is your best friend's wife ?

I will put you on the list and I will contact you in the few days to send you the info and sign up sheet! Thank you! ( J , can you email me OklahomaGladiators@yahoo.com and I will send you the LinkShare Event Letter? )

I'll try guys. I'll also mention this to our beer league group. Who are we writing checks payable to? I might try to just get one group together and write a big check.

You will make the checks payable to Lifeshare. I am not sure if its just Lifehsare on the check or something else. I will find out today. If you do one big "team" check that would be awesome. We could call your team the OKCHockey.com Beer League team in the literature. However we might be splitting the players up, unless its just something that you have to play on those guys team. We are gonna try to make the teams even , especially if we get some of the younger guys to come play.

I can put together a team, but we should definitely mix the kids in every team and make it very family oriented.

RabidYeti Email me at OklahomaGladiators@yahoo.com ... We will mix in kids so parents if you want your kids to play please email me as well.. Interest seems pretty good and we will probably fill up quickly .

Also if I dont answer you often enough this weekend, bear with me as the Gladiators are heading to Wichita to try and bring home the Kansas Cup !

Also the I have been talking to the 15 yr old USA goalie prospect ,that passed away, Ian Jenkins' Dad and he has expressed interest about attending this event all the way from Michigan. Lets make this a great event that would honor his son , whether he comes or not, and help spread the word on how awesome Organ Donation & Lifeshare's services are.

Hey Guys ... Rib Crib is now an official sponsor of this event. So not only will we be having great hockey , we will also be having Good Eats too! ....

Spots are still available but I get more interest in this thing every day!

I need to start collecting payments from everyone to hold spots. I have a lot of people saying they are in and dont want to get in a situation where a hold a bunch of spots and a lot of people bail last minute or no show. I have a ran a lot of private ices where this ended up being the scenario. You can make the checks of 100 bucks per player payable to LifeShare . You can drop off the checks to Larry at Blazers or you can make arrangements with me and I can meet you somewhere.

Its gonna be a great event and I hope everyone comes out to support Lifeshare and Okc Hockey in general.
