I think I got beat out by the news feed but Souray was put on waivers. I think we might get to see him in OKC for a while.

Well I lied. No Souray in OKC, Sources are saying Edmonton has recalled him so basically any team can claim him on re-entry waivers for half of his salary. I am sure someone takes him for half salary which is what the Oilers want. He has 2 yrs left @ 5.4 million a year. So if a team claims him edmonton will have to pick up his 2.7 million dollars ( half salary) for the next 2 years. Yes , the 2.7 million will also count against the cap of both teams.

This is coming from Sources out of Edmonton so it could be false. However makes sense since the Oilers dont want him and they have the room to eat 2.7 mill in cap space for 2 yrs.

He would be one hell of a PowerPlay QB though....

I honestly wonder if he'd even show up. The Oilers have shown him they don't want him around... and then place him on waivers.

but he is just loaned to the hersey bears... That means Edm still retains his rights if they want to recall him. He would still have to pass through recall waivers and teams can claim him at half price. The good news is since he is in the AHL his cap hit will not count against EDM's cap. He could also refuse to show up , thus voiding his contract and making him a Free agent.
