The first OKC Barons fight. (I missed the 1st goal of course) Good scrap between Shawn Belle vs Jarod Palmer in the 3rd period. Belle challenges Palmer right after Houston scores their 5th goal

I am liking Belle. I have a feeling he's going to be a fan favorite.

Belle appeared to have been the eventually winner in this first fist fight on ice; I wasn't proud of myself as I sat and cheered these antics on. One of the reasons I went to less CHL 'AA' games because they had gotten away from playing hockey and got into the goon part of that league.

I'm not a fight fan; a fan of the game and fighting will occur as this was my break-through moment in which the game reminded me of the AAA games of the mid 60s. More fast skating and puck handling throughout the game--we ended up on the short end.

Once these guys play together and establish some chemistry they are going to be worth watching.

This team has great potential; let's continue to support and enthusiastically cheer the on.

Yes, we really won't see as much of the goon stuff in the AHL. These guys are more worried about playing hard to get called up to the NHL. A well timed fight sure can change the momentum of the game though.

Yes, which calls to my memory of how Ray Riron (then Tulsa coach) would purposely send his goons out to fight our better Blazer players to either get them temporarily off the ice or ejected from the game. Many times it worked because of the substitution the Blazers would have to make and the disruption of momentum and the games got out-of-hand.

Ray did live to recognize that Oklahoma City was a better market than Tulsa!
