New Tendy in town
Hey guys,
I just moved to OKC for law school and I'm looking to play some puck.
I'm a tender, been playing for 14 years in the Cleveland, OH and Erie, PA areas.
I haven't had my gear shipped down yet, but I am hoping I can get it here soon so I can start seeing some rubber. So if anyone needs a tendy let me know - grsummy@gmail.com.

Welcome sir! What part of town are u living in? Both rinks have some pickup hockey during the week, and our adult league seems like they're always short goalies. I'm outta town till Monday (vegas baby) but I will check if anyone is lookin
I'm living on the northwest side of town, near Penn Square Mall. I'm going to be strapped for cash seeing as I am living off student loans, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford playing in the adult league. But I'm always down for pickup when I can.

Do you know where both rinks in town are? There's one about 8-10 miles north of you and about 15 miles south of you.
Arctic Edge in Edmond has pickup hockey at 9 PM on Tuesdays. I'm usually there - around 20-25 skaters and 1 or 2 goalies.
I drove out to both rinks to check them out. My gear should be here in 7-10 days, so I'll be heading to pickup as soon as I can. Thanks for the info!

The one up in Edmond is much nicer, once they put ice back in the west rink. The other rink at Arctic and Blazers suck in the summer. Might as well be skating in a puddle.

What is the cost of pickup in this area?

Pickup on is usually 10 bucks for 1 or 1.5 hrs. There's also quite a bit of stick and puck at both rinks that are 10 each. Goalies used to be free for pickup... not anymore.
I'm used to playing for free in OH and PA, but 10 is a reasonable enough price for 1-1.5 hours. Looking forward to getting on the ice soon!
Finally got my gear down here from CLE. I'm going to be at pickup at the Arctic Edge Friday night. Anyone else playing that night?
